Margaret Rose - An amazing mum, nanny and mother-in-law

Created by ALISON one year ago

On 21st December 2022 we sadly lost our dear Mum (Margy)

She was such a significant figure in our life and we were truly blessed to have her as part of our family.  Margy had the most beautiful disposition about her and was always so kind and compassionate despite being in immense pain from Rheumatoid Arthritis for 21 years. Her love of cooking was, and always will be, appreciated by many with fond memories of amazing roast dinners, home made chips, sausage rolls (which at Christmas there was always a scramble for as soon as she bought them over), scones, maids of honour, sherry trifle, bread and butter pudding (which she taught me to make and it will be an honour to continue making this for others), mince pies, suet pudding, brawn and cheese and beetroot sandwiches (which she insisted I ate when I was pregnant due to their nutritional value).  If Margy wasn't in the kitchen she was usually found in her garden, a thing of beauty due to her diligent work (and Ivan's too).  Her ability to grow and nurture plants was second to none and as I look out to my own garden I am remind of her by the Loquat tree she grew from seed, Camelia bushes which she grew from cuttings and so many other plants which she bought for us out of pure love.  My love of gardening is born purely from her passion of her own garden and as I de-head my own flowers in the warmer months to come I will be thinking of our beautiful mum.

Margy was also the most wonderful Nanny that our two children could ever of asked for.  She gave her time and attention to 'her little imps (as she used to call them) utterly selflessly.

There is so much more I can say but will leave it there for now.

We will miss you so so very much Margy, but I truly hope you are now free of pain, wandering around your own garden of eden with a glass of sherry in your hand and one of your butterfly cakes to nibble on.

Yours always

 Ali and Matt
